The 19th-century landscape
The 19th-century landscape at Villa Reale
The wealth and quality of the works in museums and public collections makes it possible to reconstruct the physiognomy and evolution of landscape painting, once considered a minor genre and now emblematic of figurative art in the region of Lombardy.
The exhibition includes the following paintings from the Cariplo Collection:
Ercole Calvi, ’View of Brianza’; Pompeo Mariani, ’Cascina Zelada’; Lorenzo Gignous, ’View of Lake Maggiore’; Eugenio Gignous, ’Landscape with Pond’; Francesco Filippini, ’The First Snow’.
